Thanks for your response. So what you mean is that there's just no way other than asking. I just thought maybe there is some sort of dictionary or something else which has classified the words and has given some sort of a key......
How in the world will such dictionary know what you want to say?

Easier, simpler, and more instructive, to ask somebody is always a good way of learning new vocabulary.

If you don't like the particular translation, look the English word up in a comprehensive English dictionary, that will probably give you several synonyms. That's how I do it for my French translations.

I believe that will deeply hurt your learning process. Use English only and you won't believe the results.

If I think of a word in my language, I will eventually get used to such method and it will certainly let me down when I have to speak to somebody.

Yes, Not itself an English word. Perhaps mostly used in the chatrooms.I'm seeing this being used often in another forum I frequent(native speakers and not a teenager forum) and when I looked it up in the dictionary I found out that it's somehow the abbrevation for that word.

I did not mean for a dictionary to know what I want to say, what I meant was that maybe there would be a dictionary which has seprated the similar words or some words related to a certain meaning or a certain TOPIC so it makes it easier for you to perhaps find the word you want.

Thanks. Sometimes I have done the same. I looked it up in my langauge dictionary and then for the other synonyms in English in an English-English dictionary, and sometimes it works but the other times either the word does not even exist in my langauge or it gives me the wrong words.

and do you mean the ordinary English dictionaries by comprehensive dictionary?
