It's not clear what you mean by "analysing a dictionary entry". For example, in:
"walk, v, (walking, walked, walked). To move along using one's legs. He walked to the station."
"walk" is the word being defined.
v. means it's a verb.
The bit is parentheses are the present and past participles and the past tense.
The next bit is an explanation of the meaning, using different words; and the sentence is an example of usage.
But perhaps that's not what you mean? Could you give an example of a dictionary entry that you need to analyse, and can't?
