    Default Usage of 'got over'

    After the project got over, we got an appreciation email from the client.

    Can someone please tell me if the above sentence sounds natural? Can we use got over like this?

    Not appropriate.

    You might say:
    After the project was completed...
    After the project was finished...
    After the project was sent over...
