It looks like a run on sentence and means that possibly another player came in second after Marco Fu. So he was defeated by Marco Fu - Marco Fu was the winner.
Checked the name Marco Fu to be sure...he is a snooker player, right? I have very little to work with. I hope I am right...

Second = it was the second 147 made by Ronnie O'Sullivan. Did marco win or lose.

'second' is fine as is. It looks odd because the sentence has been yanked out of its context.
I concur with Marylin. Marco Fu won. They were defeated in the 1st round by Marco Fu.
