Default set foot in

Do you use the idiom "set foot in" in daily speech?
Is it correctly used in the news articles?

The director has said through his lawyer that he doesn't plan to be at the hearing; in fact, he says he has no plans to ever set foot in the United States again.

On to N.H. for Victorious Obama, Huckabee - ABC News
With but one caucus down, Huckabee's biggest competition could be from two candidates who hardly ever set foot in Iowa — McCain and former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani who garnered just 4 percent of the vote.

Kim Dae-jung fulfills his dream of becoming the first South Korean leader to set foot in the North

set foot in / on sth to enter or visit a place: the first man to set foot on the moon I vowed never to set foot in the place again.

set foot in something
to go to or enter a place:

set foot in : to enter (a place)
