1. The residents can bring their own containers to the corner of Burke and Earles streets. (Why is street plural? Is it becase of 'Burke' and 'Earles' ?)

What about this?
2. The residents can bring their own containers to the corner of Burke street and Earles street.

Is #2 synonymous with #1?

3. The residents can bring their own containers to the corner of (determiner) Burke street and Earles street. (How come I don't need to use a determiner there? Like 'a, the,' ?)

Both carry the same meaning:

1a. Bring your containers to the corner of these [connecting] streets. :up:
2a. Bring your own containers to the corner of this street and that street.:up:

Burke Street and Earles Street are place names (proper nouns), so a determiner is not required.;-)
