Default Oedipus

Right or wrong?

Oedipus complex
Oedipal complex

Hamlet's Oedipus complex
Hamlet's Oedipal complex

and should I put "'s" to oedipus and oedipal?
should the "o" be capitalized in all cases?

I've used the -al ending but it seems that both are correct and about equally represented in Google.

Capitalize the O - it's based on the story of Oedipus, a person, and therefore a proper noun.

"Oedipus complex" is the term used by psychiatrists/psychoanalysts. "Oedipus-Komplex" is the German original. "Oedipal" can be used as an adjective, as in "He has Oedipal issues". But that's not the formal term.

By the way, the female counterpart is called the "Electra Complex". There are few references to an "Electral complex"
