stick out

Hi

I'm not sure if it's OK to say:

1. I never stick out a mile.
2. My personality never sticks out a mile.
3. I'm trying not to stick out a mile.

I think "stick out a mile" is not a good phrase in this context? I wanted to say that I don't attract people's attention.

Try: 'I don't stand out in a crowd'. Or, 'I try not to stand out in a crowd.'

I agree that it is not a good phrase.
You can only use this idiom in positive sentences: His nose sticks out a mile.

Using the "stick" word: I was afraid I would stick out like a sore thumb. If you wear that Penn State hat to the Notre Dame game, you'll stick out like a sore thumb.


(But I like "I try not to stand out in a crowd" better for what you mean.)
