Choose the right word
I need your help.
"He is the quite/very/so/absolute man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with."
I chose absolute but I am not sure. I am wondering whether absolute and very are interchangeable in that sentence.
Thanks

Re: Choose the right word
None of the options would be appropriate, in my opinion.
Do the following sentences sound good?
"He is so great a man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with him."
"He is such a great man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with him."

Re: Choose the right word
Thanks. Your sentences are great but my sentence is a question on a test. I have to do it.

Re: Choose the right word
What I think is:
"He is so absolute man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with."
so+adjective....... that
"absolute" means perfect and pure.

Oh, I was mistken as I thought that "absolute" is in the sentence not an option to choose.
So, it will be:
"He is the very man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with."
means: identical, he is, this is the man with whom she is going to spend the rest of her life

"very" - in its meaning of rightful, true, genuine.

Re: Choose the right word
mailan,
I have to apologize.
I believe that my sentences are grammatically correct, and that they make sense. However, they don't mean the same thing as the original.
He is the very man that she is going to spend the rest of her life with.
I totally agree with Raymott that the answer is very. When reading his comment, I noticed my mistake.
Here are some similar sentences:
??? - ????/????
He is the very man that I'm looking for.
‰pŒ‚Šw”Nƒgƒbƒv‚‚‚‚•‹*pube“ŽŒ‚‰‹ŽŒ `v
Kenji is the very man that I have wanted to see.
‹*’
He is the very man that we want.
The adjective "very" here is used to emphasize that you are talking exactly about one particular thing or person:
He died in this very room.
I'll start at the very beginning.
Those were his very words.
You'd better start doing some work this very minute (=now, not later).
That might provoke a riot, the very thing he was trying to avoid.
The very fact that you are reading this book suggests you want to improve your fitness.
By its very nature, capitalism involves exploitation of the worker.
His life's work was being destroyed before his very eyes (=directly in front of him).

very
you were not right by the choice you have made my friend. You need to use very because it is the only adverb that can define the adjective quite.
