You aren't elected yet. You have been nominated, or you have decided to run as a candidate. You can only say you are elected after you win the election.
If you want to be head girl, you must have some idea why, and what you think you can contribute, and why they should choose you. Why not make up a speech and post it here, and someone can comment. The symbol can be anything, as long as it suits you.
