no sooner had the sun risen = hardly had the sun risen
Dear teachers,
Would you be kind enough to tell me your opinion concerning the following sentences?
1. The sun had hardly risen when the temperature began to increase.
2. The sun had scarcely risen when the temperature began to increase.
3. Hardly had the sun risen when the temperature began to increase.
4. No sooner had the sun risen than the temperature began to increase.
