Default Is there anything wrong with this sentence? It seems odd.

I came across this sentence on oldandsold.com. It's an article about dog distemper. Is there a problem here? I think there is a problem here; "as both are infectious infantile disorders transmitted through, similar channels, ...". Is it perfectly fine? Does anyone know where my confusion is? Thanks!

    The Sentence:
The disease has been compared to typhoid fever in man, but really resembles measles, as both are infectious infantile disorders transmitted through, similar channels, and one attack successfully overcome renders immunity from a second.

    "...disorders transmitted through, similar channels,..."

There should not be a comma after 'through'.

....and parenthetic commas are almost begging to be put in around "successfully overcome":

... one attack, successfully overcome, renders....

Oh, right! I thought it was a comma problem. Thanks to both of you!
