Is the below statement grammatically correct ?
"He is now a pediatric heart surgeon at the Royal Children's Hospital ?"

Yes it's ok grammatically, perhaps a bit obscure in meaning.

Yes, but I know few surgeons who only do the heart. Maybe he's a chest specialist, or a thoracic surgeon....
And as for the second sentence... I would advise a small change:
"Purchase and Supply Management is at the core of such a drive".
The verb here is a notional singular, so "is" is fine... unlike the other day's examples.
