Re: Past Perfect / Present Perfect
I'd been very busy and I'm VERY tired now.
So 'busy' is the first event and 'tired' is the second event right?
What if it was like this:
1. I have been very busy and I'm very tired now. (There is no first or second event right? Is this sentence correct then? Or is it better to use past perfect?)

Let's say someone is dead and that person helped me a lot. Do I say:
1. He has helped me lot. (If this is okay, why? Isn't he dead now?)
2. He had helped me lot.
Which one do I use and why?
IMO, both are fine to say. Since this someone past away, it's correct to use past perfect "had". He'd help me a lot before he past away. Number one might have more personal emotion in it. You miss him so much that you like to use present perfect "has" to express your strong feelings about his death, his help, his everything. Some might have different opinions on this one.

Replying to your first question.
Yes, you can say so. You were busy a few months ago. Though you may not be as busy as a few months ago, you still feel tired.
I wouldn't think it's better to use past perfect or to stay with present perfect.
1-I have been very busy and I'm very tired now.
====> I've been busy for a while. After working like a beaver for a few days, I am, of course, tired. NO, I am exhausted.
2-I had been very busy and I'm very tired now.
====> I were a busy bee last December for a Chrismas project. Now the work load is just fine. Somehow, I feel tired. I guess menopause is killing me.
