Would you please tell me if my sentence is correct (grammar & style)? How would you formulate it? Having discovered the states of the roads we drove on, they would rather we had rented a car than borrowed theirs. Thank you for your help. Hela |

We can use the future in sentence 2c) because "when you will arrive" is a nominal clause ?
Thank you very much indeed for your corrections. You can't imagine how helpful you can be, you teachers on such a site, to learners like me who are studying English on their own in view of future examinations.
Kind regards,

1) Would you please check my sentence ?
Rather than lose precious sleep discussing the mortgage facilities now, I think we should go to bed and talk about them in the morning. (correct ?)
2) Would you please give me examples where such verbs as sell, read, prove, (any more, please?) can be used in the active voice while having a passive meaning? What do we call that in grammar ?
e.g.: The Rhine doesn’t show. = The Rhine can’t be seen.
Thanks a million,
