I wonder if there is any difference between (1) and (2).
If so, which is more natural, (3) or (4).

1. I didn't hear the phone ring.
2. I didn't hear the phone ringing.

A: You were not at home when I called you.
B: (3): That's funny. I didn't hear the phone ring.
(4): That's funny. I didn't hear the phone ringing.

They're both the same. Both 3 & 4 are fine.
