Default To administrators about chat function

Dear the administrators:

I have discussed chat feature with some people. They all think a chat function is very useful. What has prevented this blog from having such a function? Is there any chance to have it? Thanks.

Ian

The problem with chat on an educational site where there are people under eighteen is that it requires real time supervision. If someone comes in and posts inappropriately, we can clean up when we come online, but with chat, there is direct contact that we would be held responsible for and it would be impossible to monitor- there aren't enough hours in the day as it is for the site. It's a nightmare legally, which is why Microsoft dropped it a few years ago. I'm going back to the UK and will be spending time with Red5 wiorking on the site, so I will see if he has any bright ideas in that area.

Ian,

Why do you create a group for chatting in MSN? You can invite folks here who are interested in chatting to join.
