Re: Help with essay unforseen errors ok, here goes: my underline will mean DELETE ok?
Teachers are role models for (the) their students, (even if they are) both in (or) and out of the classroom. A student (will) may take (the) a teacher’s attitudes -drop the s- and will store it in their hearts as well as in their subconscious. A teacher’s attitude toward (their) his or her students can leave a long lasting imprint on their many self esteems and souls. If a teacher has a sour, mean, and hateful attitude chances are nine out of ten children will have a bad attitude by the end of the day will have a bad attitude, too. Teachers need to act and live how they want their students to act and live; both in and out of the classroom. Students can also read their teacher’s emotions, attitudes, and auras. Teachers need to watch how they approach the lessons and activities throughout (one word throughout) their teaching career. Teachers need to be (the) a positive role models in each and every student’s life. (that they are endowed with in or out of class)-the use of endowed isn't correct here -and you have already stated in & out of class. A teacher must step back and look at his or her actions and ask, “How did I handle that situation and what could I do to have done to improved my response or actions?”-(need to keep to one tense) or the teacher might ask,” Is this how I want my children to behave?” Just because a teacher may prefer Algebra over English doesn’t mean they should (we) boost one subject over the other. A teacher needs to practice using the same emphasis and enthusiasm for each subject. A teacher’s enthusiasm , or lack thereof, for a subject could be the difference between a student’s newfound love for English which may lead up to and the next best seller , or a student who could hit rock bottom and flunk out of English altogether. Teachers are the ones who make a lasting effect on a school and its' inhabitants. The effect will give students a whole new discourse (check meaning of discourse does it fit? is this what you mean?) , will shape their identity, and will make an impact on our future society. Teachers (do) should not need to let other people's thoughts (or thoughts) trick them into thinking that they do not matter. Teachers bring about change, hope and endurance for a better tomorrow. Shaping (Creating) oneself to be a more positive, encouraging and caring teacher matters more than one could ever dream. A teacher will emphasize to the student that his or her words have power: teachers need to learn that their words have power, too. The learning atmosphere of the classroom is (facilitated through) enhanced by the teacher. In the book The Art of Teaching Writing the title should be underlined , Lucy Calkins wrote, “If we teach children the power of writing to learn across the curriculum, we will also teach them the power of writing-and of thinking-across their lives. Could anything matter more?”
I hope this helps a wee bit... just brushing up on my own English major degree that has been getting a bit rusty lately!
