I've got an argument. Please help to find the right solution

So, the story is following.

I was asked to translate an official letter that contained some financial terms.
I translated one phrase as follows: "...you have received the moneyorder onto your bank account..."

And then I was asked to change the word moneyorder into payment

I had some argument with that person (he agreed at last, by the way ). In my opinion payment is something that you cat do, but you cannot receive it onto your account.

Aren't I right??

Please, tell me which variant would sound more correctly?
