"A visual preparation An art course started in 1999. The children can learn several methods of painting, as well as get practical tips, advice and high level of personal attention. On the weaving course, the students can learn the different techniques of weaving and its appropriation applications. The weaving course includes lectures, discussions, informative handouts, study of woven examples, drafting practice on paper, and extensive sample weaving. Gabriella Szűcs Mrs. Vastag, Erika Nagy and Ágnes Pajzs all help the members participants to achieve their personal design goals and develop their aesthetic senses.
The students on the ceramic course learn basic ceramic technology. They make earthenware, embossments, water-bottles, different pots and statues which represent animals, plants or people,learn how to throw pots, make figurines, and how to decorate their work under the direction of Csaba Herczeg.
The newest course that we provide is Flower Arranging, which started in 2003.
The aims of our workshop practices are to keep traditional folk culture alive and to bring it into the present. The independent creative work, self-expression, and craft activities are important elements. The course is run by Mrs. István Vincze.
The aim of the folk-dance course is to deepen interest in Hungarian folk dance and to teach a few dances from different cultures. Students learn the features, traditions and style of the Hungarian dances. Teaching of folk-dance started in 1998 and Mrs. József Keserű has been teaching on this course from the beginning. Róbert Lackó taught it from 2000 to 2002. Lenke Csécs Mrs. Török has taught it since 2002.
These students like performing on stage at every main programme of Hajdúsámson and accept invitations to perform from the surrounding cities. They are members of international and nationwide programmes, too.
