Hello,

I have a doubt about the phrase "snapping turtle pussy." I know what "snapping pussy" means, but I don't understand the relationship between "pussy" and "turtle". What is the connection? Why is it that this particular animal is being reffered to?

The phrase has been taken from this stanza by the poet Harryette Mullen:

"country clothes hung on her all and sundry
bolt of blue have mercy ink perfume
that snapping turtle pussy
won’t let go until thunder comes"

 I appreciate any feedback,

 Thanks a lot, Laumont.

Are those sentences (the left parts) slang, too?
Maybe not all of them belong to slang, but I would be thankful if you say which are slang and which aren't.
