Could please tell me difference between the following two titles?

1. A Comparative Study of Politeness Forms in Birtish English and American English
2. A Contrastive Study of Politeness Forms in Birtish English and American English

Couldn't a comparison show similarities, while a contrastive one would focus on differences?
