Just wondering what your thoughts are on the differences between these two concepts?
I have been thinking about it for years, and am still stumped!

Any ideas would be interesting!
They are often used interchangeably- people learn languages, but SLA stands for acquisition. Sometimes, acquisition is used to denote effortless learning, and learning can be used to imply a greater degree of understanding. I think they are used in so many ways that there is no single distinction.![]()

Hi Sivy,
Of course the terms "learning" and "acquisition" are two different things. Let us see the difference between these two terms:
LEARNING is a conscious process of accumulating knowledge in a language.
Example: Mathematics is LEARNED(not acquired)
but
ACQUISITION is a unconscious gradual development of ability in a language.
Example:Children acquire language through a subconscious process during which they are unaware of grammatical rules.
Hope, these might be helpful...![]()
