Default mostly almost nearly

____half of the population has TV at home

i picked almost
but nearly sounds right too
and then the answer is nearly...........
but doesnt almost work too?
almost the half of the population?

almost the half of the population?
Yes. Both almost and nearly work, but, in terms of semantics, almost means, very nearly (i.e. close to nearly). In this way, nearly would be the better choice. :D

this is a tricky question
cuz they both kinda work and i thought since two of them have -ly at the end maybe it's should be the one without the -ly
