Default Do we require

In a furnished room, other people do not know it when you go hungry.

Do we require 'it' in the sentence. If it required, what is it's function?

Can any one clarify please?

Not required, Sathish. If 'it' is there, 'it' means 'the fact of your going hungry'. The sentence with 'it' would be slightly less formal than the sentence without 'it'.
