Reading and Reading Comprehension

I would want to increase my Reading speed with good retention of the content I read. Is there any way to improve good reading speed along with the comprehending capabilities? please let me know.

Recently I saw a Reading speed software too on net.. I am not too convinced about that.

Hi, as one of whose native language is not English, I have the same desire. Luckily I got a PDF document written by Peter Shepherd & Gregory Unsworth-Mitchell by chance, which introduces techniques on speed reading.
