Re: Learning another language
Are the sounds of Korean very different? I find that when sounds are very different, it can be a question of inhibition that holds me back at first from attempting the real sound and I scurry around looking for an approximation within the set of sounds I am comfortable with. But after a while, this passes. However, I am in Cambodia and there are some sounds that I simply don't think that I will ever really reproduce well, like /ŋ/ at the beginning of a word rather than it coming after a vowel.
