| | | Re: Ending a letter Dear All, I voted for a wrong answer (Should i use for?).
I look forward to hearing from you.
Is forward a adverb? Or it's a adjective?
Why do we use to add a Ving?
Thanks for your reply.
Have a nice day :D |

There is debate as to the nature of the words modifying verbs. They are often called prepositions, but often don't connect words. The OED call them adverbs because they modify the verbs. The category of 'particle' is also used, but I don't think it is much use as a category as it is fairly meaningless. Forward is not an adjective here, though. |

| | | Dear tdol,
Thanks!!
So may I say:
He seems happily to meeting you.
David looks angryly to hearing from you.
And another question is:
Which words should I use in this sentence,
I voted "for" a wrong answer? or I voted "to" a wrong answer?
Have a nice day :) |

Have a nice day :) | Say: "He looks forward to meeting you."
Say: "I voted for a wrong answer" or "I chose the wrong answer."
