I came across a comment that someone made on my friends facebook profile that said,
"You spelled some and coffee wrong....lol"
I then commented, "You mean she SPELT some and coffee wrong....lol"?

I so hope that I was using the proper one. Please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

BrE - Spelt
AmE - Spelled

(That's what I've been led to understand!)

Spelled is indeed the correct spelling in the U.S.

(That's how I would have written it...)

Hi Nightmare,

I so hope = I really hope

Your "So, I hope" is correct, but with a different meaning.

Hi Nightmare,

I so hope = I really hope

Your "So, I hope" is correct, but with a different meaning.

Well pointed out, Barb. I wasn't sure which one Nightmare meant when I read the post for the first time.

I so hope I used the correct one = I really hope I was correct! I think I was, but I'm not 100% sure. (The SO is for emphasis.)

So, I hope I used the correct one = I'm not sure I used the correct one. (So is not necessarily required here, it just introduces "I hope....")
