Dieting.
Nowadays it is usual for people to follow different diets. Some do it in order to be healthy and fit. Others just want to keep up with fashion. The pros and cons of dieting are argued by doctors from all over the world. So, where is the truth?
Undoubtedly, the mere fact of following a diet is not bad but only if it is a healthy diet. This implies eating fresh fruits and vegetables, foods high in vitamins, avoiding drinking alcohol, etc. These eating habits (along with doing some kind of sport) are optional for everyone who wants to be slim and healthy. Moreover, dieting also can make us more disciplined as we have to eat determined foods at a stated time.
However, diet can be really harmful and dangerous, in particular for those people who go on some exotic diet. Doing this may result in serious health issues and is likely to cause some illnesses. In addition to this, dieting can even be a reason of psychological problems such as a loss of individuality. An aspiration to be skinny is usually caused by a wish of looking like a celebrity or a top-model. People who do this do not understand that they put their health in danger.
It is obviously that dieting has its advantages and disadvantages. After all, going on a diet is a good idea unless it is not overdone.


TV.
When television was invented nobody could predict how popular it will be in years. Nowadays we can hardly imagine our life without it. Some people watch TV to learn new things; others do it just for fun. I believe, therefore, that television has a negative effect on people.
To start with, many people who are addicted to watching soap-operas and reality shows literally get involved in everything that is going on on a screen. They forget about their own lives as lives of TV characters become more interesting and important. This is a really serious problem which is likely to grow into various psychological issues.
In addition to this, watching too much TV can cause some other things that are dangerous for our health. For example, vision problems. This means that we should listen to doctors who say that the optimal time we can spend watching TV is 3 hours a day.
However, television is an essential part of our daily routine. As I have already mentioned, we get a lot of information while watching TV so we can keep up with the latest world`s news. We also entertain ourselves by seeing movies and shows on a blue screen. Although, I think reading books is more beneficial way to learn new things and relax.
All things considered, it is certain that TV has both advantages and disadvantages. It is necessary to remember about its danger for our health and not watch TV too much.
