"The staff will report on issues that the editor feels need coverage."

Would you kindly show me how to R-K "the editor feels"?

Thank you.

I think I got that right. It was fun. I have always had a particular fondness for adjective clauses, complete with their relative pronouns. They are so amazing in what they do.

Thanks SO much for the answer. I shall add the diagram to my collection.

Just a silly question:

Technically speaking, should the diagram show two "that" 's?

The editor feels that (conjunction/expletive) that (relative pronoun) need coverage.

Thanks!!!

The staff will report on issues that the editor feels need coverage.

There is only a relative pronoun there. Otherwise it would read...
"The staff will repot on issues that the editor feels that should have coverage. " In this example, the second "that" would be a "function word" introducing a noun clause.

I THINK this is right. Maybe Corum would weigh in with his opinion.
