Hi all,

Which one is correct ?

Last year I went to London, which is ( or was ) the capital of UK ?

Is this sentence correct - regardless whether you know Cambridge exam or not ?

I have taken CAE exam many times and got either B or C but I will try again as I need A in writing and speaking

Many thanks

Yes

We understand either:

I have taken CAE exam many times and (have) got either B or C

or:

I have taken CAE exam many times and got (on each occasion that I took it) either B or C

As an American, I would write

I have taken the CAE exam many times and got either a B or C.

Is it British English to leave out the articles in the sentence? I am truly curious about this.

Hi everyone!

Is it Johnson_F?

To have, or not to have- that is the question. (",)

It is not. In concentrating on duiter's main question, I simply did not notice this slip:oops:. Thanks for pointing it out.

I feel that the ‘a’ is not absolutely necessary with ‘B’ or ‘C’, but ‘the’ is essential with ‘CAE exam’. If we omit the word ‘exam’, then many people do not use an article:
