I have a question about the use of "to be + infinitive verb" in the bellow sentence that make me confused.
What I'd like to do in this session is give you the opportunity to ask questions on writing the dissertation ... requirements, milestones . . . who to see when you need help.
Is the use of "is give" correct here? I have never seen this before. I think it must be "is to give" or "giving".
Thank you!

Dropping the "to" in this way is very often used, particularly in spoken English, and is quite correct.

Is this mean that "to" necessary grammatically?

Grumpy has already answered that: "Dropping the "to" in this way is very often used, particularly in spoken English, and is quite correct."
