Please give pronounciation rules (Basic+advanced)

Hi,

I just registered with your forum, I want to request moderators to give out some pronounciation rules (Basic+advanced).

Howevr, I also want to ask you about what need to speak english correctly? I mean what are the things to keep in mind to start speaking, english? I am emphazing on correct pronunciation (Correct way so that people understand me). I am inclined to American english pronunciation.

It's like helping at once.

Hi upstairs, I'd like to do so, can you please let me how to pronounce a word correctly if you don't know it at all (especially some names)? there is no phonetic symbol in your mind for this word, and my question is: can you figure out something from the spelling of the word for its pronunciation? Hope this will help you out......
1) Learn using vowels
In vowels you have two types first section comprises of pure vowels and the second section comprises of impure vowels........Learn using them....take a word a try to transcribe the word by using vowels and consonants.......It's quite simple.......
For eg: - You have a word as examination.......you need to have good idea of vowels so you can transcribe this way.....igzami'nation......this word should be pronounced this way and the second part nation should be pronounced with a loud voice........any help get back to me....

English spelling is notoriously inconsistent; we can spell the same sound many ways, and the same spelling can be pronounced differently in different words. You mention names- if you listen to English people giving names, street names and names of cities, etc, they frequently have to spell them to other native speakers. Given that we have to ask or tell people, don't worry about doing the same.

Just to complicate matters even more, some names, especially family names, can have very strange pronunciations.

For example, a name like Cholmondeley-Sidebottom is actually pronounced "CHUM-ly siddy-bitOME".

The cult 1970s comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus satirised this with a sketch involving a man whose name was spelled "Raymond Luxury-Yacht", but pronounced "Throatwobbler Mangrove".

Some names come from other languages, such as Irish Gaelic. Irish Gaelic has very different pronunciation rules, and so for example Eithne is pronounced "Enya".
