Is it correct to say
my grandmother cooked for us every day until she died or
should we say
my grandmother was cooking for us every day?

Your alternative version is fine, Odessa Dawn, but are you saying both of vivtof's sentences are wrong?

Would you care to comment on the standard of English of someone who claims to be a teacher?

The first sentence is fine.

The second could be OK if she's still alive.

So, are you calling the following wrong: "My grandmother was cooking for us every day until she died"?

It's unnatural to me.
