Iran’s government is denying reports that an Iranian woman convicted of adultery will be executed by stoning, though her death sentence may still be carried out by some other method.

Iran Denying Woman Will Be Executed By Stoning

Is method a countable or uncountable noun here?

I would say it's countable and used in the singular. It would be unlikely that someone would be executed using more than one method at the same time!

In the sentence you quoted, it could be rephrased as "...her death sentence may still be carried by another method". "Some" here really means only one.

Yes, that 'some other' puzzled me.

Do you mean 'some other' can be followed by both a singular and a plural noun?

Quite commonly, yes.

Can we talk about this some other day?
Meaning the exact other day or, as in your original example, method isn't particularly important.

Yes.

I don't like these biscuits. I'm going to go to the shop and buy some other biscuits.

My friend approached me and then some other people appeared from round the corner.

I'm busy now. I'll do it some other time.

I don't think it was my brother you saw. I think it was probably some other bloke.
