Hi All,

I teach yoga so all my questions are related to the instructions I give in the class. Please let me know which one is correct or more appropriate;

1. Please bring your awareness to your belly movements
2. Please bring your attention to your belly movements

Thanks in advance
Gauri

Usually, I'd say #2 but with yoga #1 can work too. Also, I think "abdomen/abdominal" is preferred to "belly": "abdominal movements". Belly really sounds good only if you're talking about belly dancing.

attention just means notice

awareness implies more knowledge and understanding

People who do yoga here like words like awareness because it sounds more meaningful; you're not just noticing your abdominal movements but somehow by focusing on them you gain some deep understanding of something
