May we say :"This is of an extreme importance."?If we omit the indefinite article in the sentence, is it right?Thanks for the answer.

Is it right to omit "the" in the sentence?

Yes, according to my two dictionaries which say that "importance" is an uncountable noun.

No, the question was about the "indefinite article" - 'an' in this case.

It is of extreme importance, without the article.
It is extremely important.
