Dear teachers,
Would you tell me your opinion concerning the interpretation of the expressions in bold in the following sentence?
Everything was in apple-pie order, ready for immediate occupation.
apple-pie = perfect; exemplary: as in “put the room in apple-pie order”
occupation = dwelling, living
"Family, neighborhood, community are apple pie virtues, unassailable and unavoidable in political rhetoric"
apple pie = of, relating to, or marked by values regarded as distinctively American:
Thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
V
