- On the Christmas Eve This one is unlikely in most contexts.
- On a Christmas Eve "On a Christmas eve sometime in the past or future, which one is either unknown or unimportant."
- On Christmas Eve The usual way to say it.

You might want to say - on the Christmas eve before last.
Or - on the Christmas eve night ( to specify which of a number of nights under discussion).

"On Christmas Eve 2011" or possibly "On the eve of Christmas 2011".
