Default "No e-mail notification" doesn't work

Hello Everybody,

I am receiving e-mail notifications of every single reply to threads I have posted in, even though I chose the option "No e-mail notification" in my Control Panel.

After a 2-year break I am an active member again, and I post in very popular threads in the Fun & Games section, so the huge number of messages in my e-mail box are becoming a bit of a nuisance. Any suggestions for a remedy?

Thank you very much in advance for any constructive reply.

Regards, Tomasz

Have you enabled Java in your browswer? I'd go and re-check the box in question, using a java-enabled browser. Then make sure you click on apply, if such an option is available.

Just checked: Java is (and has been) turned on in my Firefox Tools -> Options -> etc.

Thanks for a suggestion anyway

Hiya,

Have you checked your subscribed threads? http://www.usingenglish.com/forum/subscription.php

If you've already subscribed to threads you'll keep getting email from them.

Hello Red5,

Yeah, actually there was a number of subscribed threads in there; I've cleared the folder, hope that should help.

Thanks a million for your assistance

We've been secretly sending them despite your settings because we were worried that there would be another two-year hiatus.

Thanks, Tdol, if that's the case, I may even accept it...

On a more serious note: clearing the list of subscribed threads seems to have done the trick...
