user account unattainable

I tried to get to one user account and got this message:

mmasny, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Why is that? I checked if I can make my user profile private and it seems I can't. What's going on?

No one's at our end has disabled your account or restricted your permissions in any way.

In your control panel do you have a link to Profile Privacy in the Your Profile section? That gives control over who can see the different sections of your profile.

Our webmaster is moving house at the moment and will be back in a day or so, and he can check for a technical problem.

OK, I'll send you the link to the page. I still can't get there. But it seems it's the only one like this, so that's no problem. I just didn't know what was happening. Sorry for the trouble.
