Do you mean FLash? (I'm not sure Red5 can do this; we're to some extent in the hands of the people who supply the forum software. You could probably produce a workaround, by Inserting an Object into A Word document and attaching that, but perhaps the insertion would make too big a doc file; anyway, it sounds to me like a lot of work!)

It is possible, but there are security issues, or were when I read up on it a while back. Let's see what Red5 says.

There still are But there are plugins available that make it possible.

The wider questions surrounding this are:

1) Can we ensure that all videos are fully moderated. If inappropriate content were displayed, even for a few people, it would damage the reputation of the site massively.

2) It's not a native vBulletin feature. Therefore, if we upgrade the forum software there is no guarantee that the plugin author will upgrade their plugin to maintain compatibility. In other words I can offer this feature now but it might disappear in the future, or we may need to switch to an alternative that might break previously posted content.

Sounds pretty risky to me, for a tiny possible increase in ease of use - seems to me that there's not that much to think about - after all, there are teachers who use parts of this site for class teaching.

Hmm- I can see the fun aspect, but I clean out about a dozen spam posts most days, but if we started getting porn spam too... We could try it, I suppose, but stop if any inappropriate content gets posted. Dunno
