Restricting Private Messages

My apologies if this is answered elsewhere. I have tried searching, but without success.

Is it possible to stop PMs from selected members reaching my inbox?

I do not wish to restrict my inbox simply to contacts, but there are individual members I would like not to hear from privately.

When you go to the user's profile, you'll see the "User lists" menu. Clicking "Add to Ignore List" should do the trick. I hope that's not me.

PS: I haven't tried that. Maybe it doesn't work as I think it does.

I tried that, and it certainly blocked the messages from X - it even removed their last message.

Unfortunately, it also meant that I can no longer read X's postings in the forum. Is there any way I can retain X's public visibility but stop their PMs.

(of course, X=BC is not the situation)
