That's good news!

Obviously, we're very interested in keeping an eye on this so please let us know if you encounter any problems.

We've been having a few technical hitches recently. Please could you let us know if any problems persist so that we can fix them?

Many thanks,

Red

Default Site doesn't load

Hi Red5
.
I've recently been having endless problems getting this website to load at all. Sometimes I manage to get as far as logging in on the forum and then everything just stops. But a lot of times I can't even get that far. Sometimes I get absolutely nothing at all. Whenever I'm having a problem with this site, there is never a problem with any other website. Every other site I go to works fine. But not this one. I don't see how the problem can possibly be at my end.
.
I'd just like to mention that I've been trying for hours to get this far -- just so I could post this. If the same thing is happening to other people, it will be next to impossible for them to even tell you about it.

It's OK until about 14.00 GMT, but once North America wakes up it grinds to a crawl.

ps - So, Philly it's easy: just get up about 4 in the morning.

Hi Bob (or do you prefer 'b'? )
.
4 a.m. is about right. I'm in Germany and the site was loading again early this morning, but from mid-afternoon until now, not a chance. Nothing would load at all. That's roughly 6-7 hours of complete "blackout". Now it's finally improved to "incredibly sluggish" -- though I'm still not convinced I'm going to be able to actually post this when I hit the submit button.

"Bob" is fine , I just type "b" because I'm such a slow typist.

(Just use anything but "Robert" - which makes me feel like a naughty schoolboy.)

Red has contacted the company who host the site about this. We haven't seen this happening and we live in very different timezones. We also added another gig of RAM recently, so it is a bit of a mystery to me.

Hi all,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues accessing the site. In order for me to find out a bit more about what could be happening, can I ask you to provide a traceroute?

To do this, there are instructions in the link provided, but in Windows you simply open a DOS window and enter the command:

tracert usingenglish.com

Could you then attach a copy of the output to this thread?
