I had stopped visiting the forum very often -- even though the "hanging" problem had improved, it did keep cropping up, so I'd more or less just given up.

This morning I had no problem for about half an hour. (When everything's working, everything's really nice and quick.) But then suddenly things got very sluggish and I couldn't do anything further (repeated timeouts).

Hi Philly,

I can confirm that this has nothing to do with the UsingEnglish.com site or our hosts. There seems to have been a problem somewhere in the London networks. I will ask our hosts if they are aware of these issues.

Their Data Center was not aware of any issues, so it must have either been a temporary glitch or something to do with another part of the network. Sorry I can't be much more help on this at the moment. If you do have other times where your connection is slow please feel free to post more tracerts and I'll pass them on.
