Default Last post button not working properly?

Earlier today, I clicked on the little arrow button that is supposed to take one to the last post in the thread, but it took me to the first. I tried again, and it worked properly. I've just now tried three times with a thread that is unread for me, and it is always taking me to the initial post, not the last one. I was VERY careful to click right on the arrow, after hovering to see the tip that says the button will take one to the last post.

When I do this, it goes to the first but then adjusts to the last. Are you giving it time?

I just tried again with three threads. One was a small thread, and it worked as you describe, but faster than I could blink. The other two were big threads, with thousands of replies, and after waiting for more than one minute, each thread was still displaying its first page.
