Hi moderators/fellow members
Actually I don't know which section this question should be posted to. I hope the moderator will put it to the correct section if necessary.
Now here is the question.
When I click on the link below or any other link I've written, I am unable to switch to the link. I often see a link posted by other members which I can click on to access the link after that. I am told to use URL, etc as shown below, but I still cannot get to the link after that.
http://www.youtube.com/[/url]
Could any member/members, please show me how it can be done. I've been puzzled by this for a long time. Please help me get this off my mind.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
Elaine

No, you don't need special brackets. ust go to the page whose link you want,
Copy the link from the address line and paste it into your post.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Note that if you mouse over on this link, the address should show up in your status bar (probably bottom left).
Note also that if you mouse over on your link, an invalid address appears.
Hi Raymott
Thanks for your reply.
I've copied the link as advised by you and as shown below, but it doesn't work.
YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
Try clicking on my link and you will find that you are unable to click on it to reveal its contents.
Please help and thanks.
I'm becoming crazy over this.
edit. Now I can access the link, which I was unable to earlier.
I'm confused.

Hi Raymott
I agree with you. I was trying to click the link before I posted the query. After posting, I was able to click and access the contents of the link.
Many thanks for your help and for all the past assistance rendered to me.
With warmest wishes.

When you have the editor open and are writing a post, the link isn't active.
Copying and pasting links is the easiest way, but if you do use the URL tag, you can do it like this:
[url]http://www.usingenglish.com/forum[/url]which will look like this:
http://www.usingenglish.com/forum
If you want some text instead of the web address, you can do it like this:
[url=http://www.usingenglish.com/forum]UsingEnglish.com ESL Forum[/url]
And this will be the result:
UsingEnglish.com ESL Forum
Many thanks, Tdol, for the very clear explanation.![]()
