Celta.. please help!
Hey everyone.
So as the title says, my problem is celta related. I have an assignment to hand in in two days, and I am struggling like crazy with it
I did one question, but still struggling with the other three...
Would you mind checking the first answer for me please?
I’ve been waiting here for two hours.
1. Meaning
· I was waiting here for two hours.
· I am still waiting.
· I am unhappy.
2. Form
Subject+have/has+been + verb+ing.
3. Pronunciation
Contraction I have (I’ve).
Stress is on ai in waiting.
4. Eliciting
Show a picture of myself sitting on a chair with a clock near me. The time is 8 o’clock.
Show another picture of myself, in the same place, (with an unhappy look on my face), and looking at the clock, on which the time is now 10’oclock.
Questions to ask:
· What am I doing? You’re waiting
· How long for? Two hours.
· Am I still waiting? Yes.
· Am I unhappy? Yes.
To elicit- ‘’ so give me a sentence. I…’’
5. Concept Questions
Was I waiting for two hours?
Am I still waiting now?
Am I unhappy?
6. Anticipated difficulties
Form: Students might say I has or he have. They may say “I’m waiting for 2 hours”. They may say “wait” instead of “waiting”.
Solution: Drill. Highlight form on whiteboard.
Phonology: Students might wrongly pronounce been by extending the “ee”. /i:/ rather than /i/. Students might also not use the contraction I’ve, you’ve, he’s. Students might put stress on wrong syllables.
Concept: Students might think “waiting” only refers to something that happens now. A time line will make it clearer.

Sorry, but if this is a CELTA assignment, we really can't help you. Your trainers want to know what you can do, not what we can do.
I wouldn't worry too much. You have clearly put some thought into this.
If you are having desperate problems with the rest, have a word with your trainers. Believe it or not, they are there to help you.
