| i hope im doing this right and hopefully get a response. Im also doing the Tefl course, and its about error correction i must give what caused the error, and for this one "people is very friendly" I know better that people is plural and we would use people are friendly, i just dont know how i would answer what caused the error! any help or opinions would be great! thanks |

| That's it. The verb 'is' caused the error. It should take the plural verb 'are' because the subject 'people' is plural. =) |

| Hello Hoping this answer isn't too late. But another cause could be that students may assume that the noun people is singular as it has no s at the end. Last edited by DEKADMA; 15-Feb-2009 at 15:40. Reason: spelling error |
